Be the Difference -- Volunteer with Us!

Hunger is closer than you think, but so is the solution—you. The Heart of Alabama Food Bank (HAFB) needs volunteers now more than ever to help provide food for 350,000 people every month. From sorting and packing food to assisting at Mobile Pantries, every hour you give directly supports families, children, and seniors struggling with food insecurity.

Ways to Get Involved

  • Volunteer as an Individual or Group – Whether you’re coming solo or bringing friends, everyone can make an impact. Businesses can also participate in corporate teambuilding experiences, a rewarding way to strengthen teamwork while serving the community.
  • Support a Mobile Pantry – Our Mobile Pantries bring nutritious food to rural and underserved communities. Volunteers help distribute food directly to families who might otherwise go without.

Your Time = Full Plates & Hope

We can’t do this without you. No matter the time you donate, you are part of the fight against hunger. Join us today and help bring hope to those who need it most.

Volunteer as a Group

Groups and individuals can easily register through the website. There are many ways for everyone to help.

Volunteer as an Individual

By donating a few hours of your time, you’ll help us provide food for 350,000 people who face food insecurity each month. Volunteers help us by boxing, bagging, and sorting food that is later distributed through our network of more than 200 partners to our neighbors in need.

Host a Food Drive

Hosting a Fund and Food Drive has become a great way for our community to impact our mission to feed individuals and families in need across Alabama! Every grocery item donated helps.
