In the Huntington Area Food Bank's service area the Meal gap is 12,341,622 meals each year.  15.4% of the population is food insecure. The Average cost for one of these meals is $2.47

The need for food assistance remains historically high; food banks saw a 46 percent increase since 2006.

Over 50 million people nationwide struggle to put food on their table including over 90,000 in the Huntington Area Food Bank''s service area.

Each dollar donated generates 1.73 in economic activity, benefitting, grocers, farmers and manufacturers.

Tell your congressman  not to cut food aid and to make sure noone goes hungry.

The Huntington Area Food Bank services 17 counties in West Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky.  Each county's food needs vary due to levels of poverty and avaiablility of relief.
